Not happy with the conference openers on the road. Why do we play FSU on the road only to have them late in the season at our place the next year? I fail to understand the lack of consistency. That's neither here nor there. My way to far in advance money picks a 9-3 team with a (gasp) Peach Bowl Berth You heard it here first people. Now back to the diamond for some baseball love....season starts in a couple weeks!

I don't know about the Peach Bowl thing. They get first pick this year. That means we either lose in the ACC Championship game. Or the team that loses the ACCCG is like FSU last year and had a crappy record but still won the division.

First off, from the insider, Peach bowl will be no more. It will be renamed to solely "Chick-Fil-A bowl". That will take the wind out of a few Clemson fans as the Peach bowl was the pinnacle of bowling for the time being. But as the Tigers improve, so must the expectations! Anyway, I don't mind FSU in the early runnings, I would rather get them early with the young experienced team that we have rather than later when they get their legs under them. Pass em by and go on to the rest!

Interesting thoughts, AO. But FSU started out '05 fairly strong. It wasn't until later in the season when they got tripped up that the wheels started to fall off. Of course that was due, in large part, to injuries. And I think I heard that due to injuries, they went like 4 or 6 weeks without any full contact drills. They started those back up at the request of players before the ACCCG.

BC and FSU are certainly big obstacles at the beginning of the season. But I think the true tone of the season will be set after the Wake game. Tripping up at UNC and/or Wake and we could be digging ourselves out of another 2-4 hole.
